[ hinata's at the sports center pretty much every day in the summer, constantly working on perfecting his spikes--and lately attempting at kageyama's jump serve, since he finally deigned to teach it to him. he's fresh off his afternoon practice and with a grumbly stomach when he pokes back into the main lobby and finds makoto being a domestic handyman. ]
Ah? Makoto-senpai! [ he can't resist his curiosity, and hinata hurries over, tilting his head as he tries to peer up at whatever handyman bullshit he's working on. is that a hammer? ] What are you doing?
[there's something fascinating about a bundle of orange joy running in one's way, like the warmth of the sun personified with laughter and bright eyes. makoto just about stops, putting the hammer down for a bit.]
I was thinking of putting up a board here where everyone will see it. For birthdays, that is.
[ immediately, hinata drops down and pulls the two things out--the chalkboard takes a little juggling because it's big, but he gets it all in his arms more or less and stands next to the ladder. ] Are you gonna write the birthdays on the chalk thingy?
Chalkboard. [son...] And, yeah, I figure it would be nice to have this on. We can celebrate multiple birthdays at the end of each month if we put money aside for a small party in the centre. Wouldn't that be fun?
[awfully domestic]
[hammers the nails where he had marked earlier before hinata arrived, smooth placements on the wall]
Hmm... I hope it's straight when we put up the board. Oh, we'll have to glue those together. Nailing them might break the chalkboard.
[attention now on the small birb, back to the bag, taking out a hot glue gun]
hinata watches him hammer in the nails curiously, still holding all the supplies. ] Yeah! We can get cake and stuff for everybody! It's a really, really good idea, Makoto-senpai!
[ listening to directions, he nods eagerly and takes a step back. ] Should I put the chalk one down? And then we can glue the other thingy on it!
[hot glue gun on hand, he connects it to a wall plug and lets it heat up. he watches over hinata on the placement of the chalkboard and frame, marking down with a pencil the general area of the frame on the board...]
